Vagamon is a hill station located in Kottayam-Idukki border of Kottayam district of Kerala, India. It has a cool climate. It is located 1,100 metres above sea level. Vagamon was discovered by the British in 1926 by Mr. Walter Duncan and company setup their tea plantations in 534 acre land. With the Idukki reservoir on one side, the norther part of the Vagamon is Mountanious and rugged whereas the southern part with its fabulous rolling grass land and sceninc views of Kottayam provides for stunning visuals. There around 20 hecters of pine tree in Vagamon.who found the place ideal for tea plantations and they were followed by Christian missionaries who built their abode of service at Kurisumala in Vagamon. National Geographic Traveler has counted Vagamon on their directory of the '50 most attractive places to visit in India.
