Thazhathangady Juma Masjid
Thazhathangady Juma Masjid is a mosque located in Thazhathangady, one of the Heritage Zones of Kerala, India, close to the town of Kottayam. It is one of the most ancient mosques in India and is more than 1000 years of age. It is popular for its lavishness of construction modeling, wood carvings and the magnificence. Southern a large portion of it is destroyed and stretched out with iron columns, aluminum sheets and minars in 2012. This mosque is arranged on the banks of the Meenachil stream.
Thazhathangady Juma Masjid is additionally called as the "Taj Juma Masjid". The predecessors of this Masjid came and settled in Kottayam, from diverse parts of Kerala.the Muslims who existed here assumed a dynamic part in Freedom Struggle and other National Movements.
This mosque is known for its many-sided wooden carvings and construction modeling.
